All four mobile operators of the country could not pass the fourth-generation internet service (4G) examination in the Chattagram division. Apart from this, Robi is lagging behind in call quality in this category among 3 private operators.
According to the Telecommunications Regulator Authority BTRC report, the minimum download speed through the 4G network was set at 7 Mbps (megabits per second) but the country’s three private mobile operators could not reach it.
By the report, Robi is lagging behind the operators, followed by Grameenphone. Banglalink is in a more convenient position than these two operators. GP subscribers of the Chittagong division get 4.92 Mbps to speed internet, Robi subscribers get 3.56 Mbps and Banglalink subscribers get 6.10 Mbps to speed internet.
Meanwhile, in the Chittagong division, apart from internet speed, Robi failed to meet the minimum standard set by BTRC in Min Opinion Score (MOS): Call Quality. Although the limit of QoS policy is 3.5, Robi has 3.32.
It may be mentioned that BTRC conducted this survey from 13 February to 14 March covering an area of 2,860 km in the Chittagong division.
