Team Powerpuff Girls, a team of students from Islamic University of Technology (IUT) and East West University, emerged champions in the third edition of the campus-based innovation competition Over the Wall. The first runner-up in this flagship competition, held with the business ideas of Marico Bangladesh Limited, was Team Cowdon Blue from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Dhaka University, and Team Eclipse from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
The champion team among the winners got the opportunity to intern at the head office of Marico Limited in India. While the first runner-up and second runner-up teams got the opportunity to intern at Marico Bangladesh Limited.
It is reported that more than 5,000 students from more than 33 universities participated in this year’s competition through workshops, mentorship programs and campus activations. Six teams participated in the final round of the competition held at a five-star hotel in Dhaka on January 20. The judges for the competition were Sumitava Basu, Managing Director of Marico Bangladesh Limited, Niraj Kumar, Managing Director of Colgate-Palmolive Bangladesh, Sabbir Nasir, Managing Director of Swapna ACI Logistics Limited, and Ruhina Halim, Partner of Quantum Consumer Solutions Limited.
In this regard, Sumitava Basu, Managing Director of Marico Bangladesh Limited, said, “Over the Wall is more than a competition; it is a platform that inspires future leaders. This year’s participants have exceeded our expectations with their talent, creativity, and determination. We are proud to be a part of their growth and look forward to their future success.”
