The Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) inaugurated the Mastermind 2.0 National Case Competition on Friday, November 22, at the university’s mini auditorium. The event was opened by SUST’s Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Sajedul Karim.
Speaking at the inauguration, he emphasized the role of the career-focused organization, SUST Career Club, in fostering students’ intellectual growth. He remarked, “Through initiatives like this, students can engage in creative activities that complement academics and enhance their competitive spirit.”
The welcome speech was delivered by the club’s advisor, Professor Dr. Md. Mozammel Haque. The keynote speaker for the event, popular content creator Sadman Sadik, provided insightful guidance about case competitions and shared innovative ideas with participating students. He also presented gifts to those who shared their ideas during the session.
The second segment of the program, titled “Career Knows No Gender,” aimed to encourage female students and promote the advancement of science and technology. Speakers included ICDDRB Production Officer Tanzina Tania and Senior Research Officer Jennifer Kayum Ami, who shared inspiring perspectives.
Among the notable attendees were University Proctor Professor Mokhlesur Rahman, club advisor Professor Dr. Md. Mahbubul Hakim, Policy Analyst and Digital Product Management Cluster Head Md. Afzal Hossain Sarwar, and Joint Project Director Molla Mizanur Rahman.
Registration for the competition began on October 25 and will remain open until November 27. A prize pool of BDT 100,000 has been announced for the competition.
