At the Global Mobile Broadband Forum 2024 (MBBF 2024) held in Istanbul, Turkey, Huawei launched its “Antenna Digitalization White Paper.” The paper explores the evolving trends and innovations in antenna digitalization, highlighting its pivotal role in the mobile AI era and the broader mobile network ecosystem.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is driving technological transformation across sectors, including wireless networks, by enhancing network intelligence. As a critical component of wireless infrastructure, antennas are poised to play a vital role in this transformation, particularly through digitalization.
The white paper underscores the necessity of technological capabilities like remote antenna management and multidimensional adjustment to enable network intelligence and automation. Remote management requires antennas capable of providing real-time, precise data to network systems, such as engineering parameters and beam shape configurations. Multidimensional adjustment refers to the ability to remotely control parameters like signal radiation direction and beam shape in real-time.
The 15th Global Mobile Broadband Forum, held from October 30 to 31, 2024, revolved around the theme “5.5G Leads the Mobile AI Era.” Organized by Huawei in partnership with GSMA and GTI, the forum gathered industry leaders to discuss leveraging 5G’s success for achieving 5.5G milestones and exploring business strategies for the mobile AI era.
