The Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and Dhaka University (DU) have announced their undergraduate admission schedules for the 2024-25 academic year, with adjustments to examination dates and application processes.
According to BUET’s admission notice, the entrance examination will be conducted in two phases. The preliminary test will take place on January 23, 2024, and selected candidates based on merit will be eligible to appear for the final examination on February 13, 2024.
For DU, the Science Unit admission test originally scheduled for February 1, 2024, has been postponed to February 15, 2024, to avoid scheduling conflicts with the first phase of the Biswa Ijtema.
Additionally, BUET’s online admission portal, which faced a temporary shutdown due to technical issues and excessive traffic, resumed operations on Tuesday morning. However, students accessing the site encountered “502 Bad Gateway” errors when attempting to reach the main URL. The convener of the online admission committee, Professor Mostafizur Rahman, attributed the disruptions to server-related complications.
The notice on the admission portal indicates that students may begin submitting their applications from November 16, 2024, provided they have received their Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) results. The application process is considered complete only after payment of the application fee and downloading the receipt from the website. Applicants failing to download the receipt after payment will have their applications marked as incomplete.
Both universities have urged candidates to follow the instructions on their respective websites for a smooth application experience.
