A seminar aimed at raising awareness about higher education opportunities in the United States and career development was held today at Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST). The event, organized by the JUST Career Club, took place on Tuesday afternoon in the university’s central gallery.
Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Majid, Vice-Chancellor of JUST, attended as the chief guest. Addressing the students, he emphasized, “As JUST is a university focused on science and technology, you have great opportunities to pursue fully-funded scholarships in the United States. If students focus on academics and research, they will find it easier to study abroad. Not only the U.S., but other countries also offer avenues for higher education, which can significantly contribute to career growth.” He also advised students to improve their proficiency in English.
The keynote presentation was delivered by Sohel Iqbal and Gulshan Zarin Alam, Education Outreach Coordinators from the U.S. Embassy in Bangladesh. They highlighted the benefits of studying in the U.S., the ways to secure scholarships, and the necessary preparations for applying to American universities. The speakers also addressed various questions from students.
The seminar was chaired by Dr. Md. Mir Mosharrof Hossain, Director of the JUST Student Counseling and Guidance Office, while other notable speakers included Dr. Md. Amjad Hossain, Proctor of JUST, and Zakaria Habib Jim, President of the Career Club. The seminar was moderated by Tanzid M. Mahin from the Career Club. At the start of the event, the guests were welcomed with flowers and later presented with crests as tokens of appreciation.
