In the wake of a recent explosion in Lebanon involving pagers and walkie-talkies that resulted in several casualties, Iran has banned the use of these devices on all domestic and international flights. The move comes just weeks after Emirates Airlines, based in Dubai, imposed a similar ban on its flights.
According to NDTV, Jafar Yazerlour, spokesperson for Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization, stated, “The use of any electronic communication devices, except for mobile phones, is prohibited in the aircraft cabin or on cargo planes.”
