Changpeng Zhao, the founder and CEO of Binance, a popular cryptocurrency exchange platform, has been released from jail after four months. On Friday, Zhao was freed from a California correctional facility, according to Bloomberg News.
The report states that Zhao was convicted earlier this year in a money laundering case, leading to a four-month prison sentence. He was accused of using his Binance platform to violate U.S. laws related to money laundering.
The Chinese-born Canadian businessman is one of the most prominent figures in the cryptocurrency world. He founded Binance in 2017.
