Professor Dr. S.M. Abdul Awal has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST).
The appointment was announced on Monday (September 23) through an official notification signed by the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Ms. Rokhsana Begum, under the directive of the President and Chancellor.
Professor Abdul Awal completed his Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge. He is a professor in the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering at Khulna University.
According to the notification, his term as Vice-Chancellor will be for four years, starting from the date he assumes office. During his tenure, he will receive the same salary and benefits as his current position. He will also be entitled to other benefits associated with the position of Vice-Chancellor, in accordance with regulations. As the Chief Executive Officer of the university, he will be required to reside on campus full-time.
The notification also states that the President and Chancellor may cancel the appointment at any time if deemed necessary.
