Former Minister of State for Telecommunication and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak has been sent to jail after being remanded in various murder cases amid the anti-discrimination movement.
On Thursday (September 12) morning, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehedi Hasan, a separate magistrate of Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, ordered to send him to jail. At the same time, the court granted an application to show him arrested in the murder case of Chhatra Dal leader Nuruzzaman Jani filed at Khilgaon police station.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) informed about the arrest of Palak from Nikunja area of Khilkhet police station on the night of August 14. After that he was remanded several times. After the remand in these cases, the police produced him today before the court and applied to send him to jail.
A bail application was made for the accused. The court denied bail and ordered them to send to jail.
