On September 14, the government will honor the martyrs of the student-people uprising. The Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Adviser Md. Nahid Islam conveyed the matter in a preparatory meeting to organize a memorial meeting in memory of all the martyrs of the student uprising in the meeting room of the Posts and Telecommunications Division on Monday.
The adviser said that students should be used as volunteers in addition to giving the highest respect to the martyrs’ families in the memorial meeting.
Bengali Blockade, Complete Shutdown and Long March to Dhaka must be mentioned in the commemoration because the words acted as a tonic in the mass movement. The advisor also commented that the commemoration meeting should be developed in such a way that it creates the atmosphere of the July mass movement.
Mohammad Zahidul Haque, an Assistant Professor of Jagannath University expressed his opinion about the plans of the program.
Advisor Md. Nahid Islam will discharge his duties as the focal point of the memorial ceremony. High officials including Dr. Mushfiqur Rahman, Secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division were present at the meeting.
