American carmaker Tesla plans to start producing and using humanoid robots next year. Billionaire businessman Elon Musk himself gave this information.
Musk said on social media that production of ‘genuinely useful’ humanoid robots to work on Tesla’s cars will begin next year. Then from 2026 these robots will be produced commercially which will be sold to other companies.
Musk also said that humanoid robots will also be developed for general use. In this case, the price of each robot will be less than 20 thousand dollars.
Tesla unveiled Optimus, the first humanoid robot in 2022. Optimus is about 1.7 meters tall and weighs 56 kg.
