“Smart Employment Fair” was held at Tejgaon College on Tuesday with the participation of 30 organizations from both technology and non-technology sectors. Companies from the technology and telecom sector included ICC Communications Limited, Bondstein, Walton, e-shikhon, Paperfly, CodeManbd, Devine and Web Battalion.
In addition to submitting CVs in the fair, 4 job seekers and representatives of 4 employer organizations highlighted their experience before the job seekers in CV evaluation session.
Azizur Rahman, Chairman of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospital Management of Tejgaon College presented a report on the fair. In addition, the VC of the National University Dr. Moshiur Rahman; Jahangir Nagar University Syndicate Member Md. Harun Or Rashid; Vice Principal Prof. Anjuman Ara; BDJobs Co-Founder AKM Fahim Mashroor; Dhaka University Emirates Professor Dr. Khandkar Bajlul Haque and others participated in the career discussion.
In this session, the preparation of students for various professions along with learning mindset and skill development in students to survive in the era of fourth industrial revolution and artificial intelligence was discussed. The speakers expressed hope that this event will motivate the students of various educational institutions under Tejgaon College and National University to become smart citizens in building Smart Bangladesh.
Md. Sahid Mia, human resources manager of ICC Communications Limited, who participated in the fair, said that they have taken CVs for marketing, accounts and knock. The submitted CVs will be selected and the eligible candidates will be appointed soon.
The fair was organized at the college premises by the initiative of A2I, BDJobs, Tejgaon College and National University. Apart from providing various job opportunities to the students, the fair also provides information on how to become an entrepreneur and engage in domestic and international work as a freelancer, the opportunity to enroll in training in public and private institutions and guidance to develop themselves for future careers.
