The Smart Bangladesh Forum has been formed by sector-based representatives to implement the Smart Bangladesh vision. This forum has been constituted according to Section 6 of Bangladesh Computer Council Act 1990. The 31-member committee chaired by Council Executive Director Ranjit Kumar has representatives from various government ministries, departments, University Grants Commission, Dhaka University, BUET and commercial, professional and social organizations of the private sector.
Also, as members, all members of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), Directors and Project Managers and Grade 6 and above officers are included. It is said that more members will be added to this forum formed on Monday.
Cyber security expert Tarek Mosaddek Barkatullah, one of the members of the committee, said that this committee will bring all ongoing activities under one umbrella to build smart citizens, smart economy, smart government and smart society and work to speed up the whole process. Recommendations regarding national strategies and policies in the field of information technology in building Smart Bangladesh, recommendations regarding cooperation between public and private organizations and Smart Bangladesh Task Force will work to highlight the same in meetings.
