The Minister of State for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak has directed the concerned to take effective steps to make the calling service app ‘Alaap’ of state-owned telecom operator BTCL popular among the customers. He gave this instruction at the annual development program review meeting of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications in the conference room of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications at the Secretariat on Thursday.
At the same time, he instructed Alaap to create the ability of 20 lakh subscribers to make video calls simultaneously, to make it easy to download apps like WhatsApp through mobile numbers without ID and to ensure the facility of making incoming and outgoing calls and receiving calls on the app as an existing land phone number. Minister of State also advised the Department of Posts and Telecommunications on the steps to be taken to achieve the highest position in the national progress order in the progress of ADP implementation in the current financial year.
In the meeting, the state minister emphasized the need to ensure the maximum utilization of the unused resources of various organizations of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications including BTCL, and TSS.
He said, there is an opportunity to increase the income of the organizations by ensuring the proper use of resources. This opportunity should be used.

Heads of organizations under the department and project managers of various projects were present.
