Walton launched new model smartphone and SSD with cashback offer
State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak termed Walton as the most successful and largest private hi-tech park in the country while visiting the Walton Headquarters in Chandra, Gazipur. State Minister Palak visited the hi-tech park on Thursday, February 8, 2024.
While speaking about the progress of Walton, he said, starting with home appliances and electronics products, Walton has now brought the world’s most unique and innovative solutions to many smart devices including refrigerators and televisions. Which is very helpful in making Bangladesh an innovative nation. Walton has inspired Bangladesh to become a self-reliant and exporting country in the production of electronics and digital device products.
Emphasizing the importance of products manufactured in the country in the government procurement process, the state minister said that nearly 4 lakh tablets of Walton were used in the last census project. By using the ‘Made in Bangladesh’ tab in that project, the government saved about Tk 150 crore. As the quality of Walton’s tabs is very good, Walton was given a letter of thanks from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics after the census project was over. Besides, Hon’ble Prime Minister happily approved the distribution of the tabs among the students. If such bold steps are taken in government procurement, it is possible to save thousands of crores of taka.
During the visit, Zunaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated Walton Digi-Tech’s commercial production of SSD products for the first time in the country. He also announced the launch of Walton-Laptop cashback offer and unveiled the new model of NexG series smartphone ‘N72’.
ICT Secretary Md. Shamsul Arefin; Managing Director of Bangabandhu Hi-Tech Park, GSM Zafarullah; Project Director of A2I Md. Mamunur Rashid Bhaiya; Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited Chairman SM Rezaul Alam; Managing Director SM Manjurul Alam and Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC Director and Walton TV Monitoring Director Raisa Sigma Hima were present at that time.
Among others, Walton Digi-Tech Additional Managing Director Liaquat Ali, Walton Hi-Tech Deputy Managing Director Md. Yusuf Ali and senior officials of Walton were present.
During the visit to the headquarters, the state minister was impressed by the complete simulation program of the first satellite manufactured in Bangladesh at the clean room facility of Walton TV. It is noted that Walton Television’s Cleanroom Research Lab and Technology is assisting Aspire to Innovate (a2i) in the implementation of Bangladesh’s first lunar satellite development project.
