The state minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that he plans to start his third term of office by giving top priority to smart employment, investment and increasing exports. On Friday morning, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina led the members of the new cabinet after paying homage to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi-32. While asked by reporters, he disclosed his plan about his third term. His wife Arifa Jasmine Kanika accompanied him at that time. From there, they went to pay floral respects at the Savar National Memorial with the Prime Minister.
Earlier, Palak expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for giving him the responsibility of State Minister again for the third term and said, I want to retain the trust and confidence of the honorable Prime Minister by expressing gratitude and thanks.

He also said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has already defined four pillars in the outline of Smart Bangladesh. Based on that goal, our first priority will be to create smart citizens through the creation of skilled human resources. Secondly, Joy Bhai has identified smart economy as the key pillar to realize the cashless society that lies ahead of us. So, we want to implement cashless society. Besides, we want to ensure total paperless office service to implement smart government. We want to build a modern form of smart society of Bangabandhu’s dream of Sonar Bangla in order to implement it in Smart Bangla.
State Minister for Telecom and ICT mentioned that priority should be given to three issues. He said, “In the next 5 years, we want to diversify exports to earn 5 billion dollars from ICT. At the same time, I want to increase the investment in IT electronics and software sector. Besides, we want to increase ICT-based employment for the 2.5 million graduates coming out every year through the development of skilled human resources”.
