The National Identity (NID) registration server will remain closed till 4 pm on Saturday.
Mamunur Hossain, system analyst of the NID branch of the Election Commission Secretariat, informed so on Friday that the work of standardization of the server room located on the 10th floor under the ICT section of the Commission Secretariat has been completed. Server/Network related services will be closed till 4 pm next Saturday to transfer all equipment including servers, racks, networking devices, storage from temporary rooms to main server rooms.
As many as 175 organizations take NID verification services from the Election Commission. Among those, there are banks, insurance, mobile operators, law enforcement agencies. They will not get NID verification service till Saturday afternoon.
