All applicable data access to the Ministry of Lands’ second version of the Smart Land Service System will be shared with the Law and Judiciary Department. Judges and magistrates can verify land related documents in court. As a result, applicable land related information can be verified quickly and related cases can be settled at the earliest, said Land Secretary Md. Khalilur Rahman.
This information was conveyed by the Land Secretary while speaking as the chief guest at the workshop on Smart Land Services organized for the Assistant Judges/Equivalent Judicial Officers participating in the basic course at the Judicial Administration Training Institute held at the Bhumi Bhaban meeting room in Tejgaon on Wednesday.
The secretary said that registration-mutation interconnection has already been experimentally established in 17 upazilas for the automatic registration of documents. Referring to the clear instructions of Land Minister Saifazzaman Chowdhury in this regard, the secretary said, this interconnection between the land office and the relevant sub-registry office will be quickly expanded across the country.
The land secretary said that efficient land management is very important in building ‘Smart Bangladesh’. That is why the Prime Minister has given great importance to digitization of land services. The Ministry of Lands and the Department of Law and Judiciary, the two highest executive bodies of the government entrusted with the responsibility of providing land services to citizens, must work in coordination.
In the workshop, the joint secretary of the DKMP division of the Ministry of Land Dr. Md. Zahid Hossain Panir briefed the Assistant Judges/Judicial Officers of equivalent level who are training in the basic course about various initiatives related to smart land management through pictorial presentation. Later the Assistant Judges/Judicial Officers of the same level participated in the question and answer session and interacted with others and expressed their views.
Project Director of Land Management Automation Project Joint Secretary Mozaffar Ahmed, Director of Land Administration Training Center Joint Secretary Md. Arif, Judicial Administration Training Institute Director (Training) Senior District and Sessions Judge Sheikh Ashfakur Rahman, Deputy Director (Training) Joint District and session judge Dr. Md. Alamgir along with the officials of Land Ministry, Judicial Administration Training Institute and Dhaka Metropolitan Circle Land Office were also present in the workshop.
