The global AI conference will be held in the UK on November 1 and 2. It invited China, the country accused of espionage in the technology world. This invitation was given by the country’s foreign minister, James Cleverley. However, the Chinese embassy in London did not reveal whether China will respond to this call or not.
With this news, the news agency Reuters says that Prime Minister Rishi Sunak wants to see the UK as the top country in the AI control system by bringing together different countries, technology companies and academics to discuss the risks of AI technology.
In a statement on Tuesday, Cleverley said, “It will not be possible to protect the people of the United Kingdom from its risks if one of the leading countries in AI technology does not participate in this event.”
London has been trying to improve relations with Beijing in recent weeks after concerns over Chinese espionage in the UK grew. In particular, since the arrest of a researcher in the country’s parliament last March on suspicion of spying for China.
