Google is going to bring several changes to its mobile apps and other services. Google’s ‘At a Glance Assistant Widget’ might get tweaked, Lookout app might also get tweaked, Zoom Call might be added to Android Auto.
Along with this, there may be a change in branding. The aim is to make using Android a little more fun. This update may happen when Android 14 is released.
Also keep in mind that while most new Android features will be updated throughout the year, something like an OS platform upgrade may not happen overnight.
There is already interest in what the new widget might look like. In this case, it can be said that a completely new design is coming. There may be more information about events, travel plans, local weather. Google Wallet is also getting an update. So that barcodes, QR codes can be used more easily. A special ‘photo import’ feature is coming for this.
Apart from this, the Lookout app is also getting a new design so that people with low vision can work easily. From now on Android Auto will have the facility of Zoom and WebEx calls. Although this feature is still available, it is only for audio.
The biggest thing is that Google is going to change the Android logo. It is expected to resemble Google’s own logo, with a three-dimensional appearance. Not only that, from now on, the spelling of Android will start with capital A.
Jason Fournier, Google’s brand manager, said that this will make the Android logo more consistent with Google’s branding. It is said to be made in different colors and will be used as needed. Even a logo can get a furry look.
Google is also going to unveil a lot more. Preparations for the hardware unveiling have already begun. Pixel 8 may be unveiled on October 4. Google will probably unveil the new Android version on the same day.
