Finally, scientists have succeeded in creating a complete human embryo model in the laboratory without sperm or egg. In this case, a complete embryo has been created for the first time using human stem cells. The researchers claim that this success in creating embryos without the mother’s womb is a milestone in medical science.
According to international media reports, a group of researchers from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel conducted this study. The team members claimed that the embryos they succeeded in creating using stem cells looked like a full-fledged embryo 14 days in the mother’s womb. In the laboratory, the embryo secreted the hormone, which gave a positive result in the pregnancy test.
The research team hopes that this study will provide a clear understanding of the very beginning stages of human birth. Apart from this, it will be possible to know and understand about the dramatic steps from the sperm until the egg is formed in the mother’s womb. However, what is still poorly understood is pregnancy loss and birth defects.
Professor Jacob Hanna, a member of the research team, said that the matter is still like a black box and unclear to us. Our understanding of this is very limited. Professor Jacob Hanna’s research report was recently published in The Nature Journal.
