The Internet Society Foundation has launched a new grant program to increase opportunities for more efficient Internet education and use. This initiative will play a special role in the economic growth of the country through digitalization. Under the Strengthening Communities, Improving Lives and Livelihoods (SCILLS) program, organizations in Bangladesh will receive grants of up to $250,000 for projects lasting up to two years.
The application deadline for the program is May 31 and its provisional award notification will be published in August.
The Internet Society Foundation is looking for projects in Bangladesh that aim to increase access to economically inclusive education for disadvantaged communities in the country. These include increasing the use of Internet in high quality primary and secondary education, developing virtual and distance learning methods and skills, creating financial opportunities, increasing economic independence and ensuring sustainable sources of income.
Sarah Armstrong, executive director of the Internet Society Foundation, said, “This grant program will provide financial support to organizations that are contributing to the economic well-being of the nation by providing needed digital skills and educational opportunities to underserved communities.”
Applications must be submitted through the online grant management system Flux. If a project or organization is able to meet the required conditions, they will be invited to submit a complete application.
