WhatsApp has introduced a new feature for its Android beta users, making it easier to track missed messages. Known as “Reminders,” the feature previously only sent notifications for missed status updates. With the latest update, it will now also provide reminders for missed messages, as reported by Gadgets360.
The feature has been included in the Android WhatsApp Beta version 2.24.25.29. After updating to this version, users can access the feature by navigating to Settings > Notifications > Reminders. When enabled, the app will send reminders for missed messages from specific contacts.
Users already on this beta version can test the feature. However, it will be gradually rolled out to all users over time.
The feature has been designed to avoid sending unnecessary notifications for trivial status updates or messages. Instead, it focuses on notifying users about missed messages from important contacts.
