Tablet sales worldwide rose by 20.4% in the third quarter of this year, with a total of 39.6 million units sold, according to market research firm International Data Corporation (IDC), as reported by GSM Arena.
IDC noted that, despite disappointing sales during the same period last year, this year’s Q3 sales show a positive trend. The increase in sales from July to September was attributed to device updates and promotional events organized by various companies.
Apple led the market with a 32% share, selling 12.6 million units, while Samsung followed in second place with an 18% share.
