Apple CEO Tim Cook met with China’s Minister of Information Technology, Jin Zhuanglong, during his visit to Beijing this week, according to a statement released by the ministry and reported by Reuters.
During the meeting, Minister Jin expressed hopes that Apple would further strengthen its presence in China. He encouraged the tech giant to increase its investments in innovation, collaborate with Chinese companies, and work together to promote high-quality development.
This marks Cook’s second visit to China this year. With Apple facing declining market share in the world’s largest smartphone market due to competition from local companies, the tech company is placing renewed focus on the region.
Apple has not yet provided any official comments regarding the meeting.
