Alcon Entertainment, the production company behind the film Blade Runner 2049, has filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk, accusing him of replicating the film’s iconic imagery without permission. The lawsuit also names Tesla and Warner Bros. Discovery as defendants.
According to reports, on October 10, Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk unveiled prototypes of the RoboTaxi and RoboVan at an event titled “We Robot” at Warner Bros. Studios in California. During the event, imagery reminiscent of the popular Hollywood film Blade Runner 2049 was used to showcase the RoboTaxi.
Prior to the event, Musk and Tesla had requested permission from Alcon Entertainment to use the iconic visuals from Blade Runner 2049, but the request was denied. Despite this, the imagery was used without authorization, leading to the legal action.
