Software giant Microsoft will invest $1.3 billion in Mexico over the next three years. The company said this investment will be made in cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) technology. News Reuters.
Microsoft chairman and CEO Satya Nadella said at an event in Mexico City stating, “We’re doubling down on expanding our capabilities in Mexico.”
The initiative aims to serve 5 million Mexican citizens and 30,000 small and medium enterprises, according to a statement.
Already, Mexican companies such as breadmaker Bimbo and cement producer Cemex have started using Microsoft’s AI tools.
Besides, Microsoft is working with communication company V-Sat to provide internet services without cellular connection.
