Video sharing platform YouTube is going to roll out new features to fix false and inaccurate information on their platform. Social media X (formerly Twitter) has a feature called Community Notes. News Tech Times.
According to the news, social media companies say that there is a lot of wrong and misleading information on the internet, and therefore strict action is being taken against it from various platforms.
According to Google, they announced the feature was coming in June. According to a report by Google nine two five, YouTube is testing the feature among some beta testers in the US.
YouTube said users can submit notes to correct or clarify inaccurate or unclear videos. This requires users to add ‘additional supporting information’ below the video. After the note is submitted it will be reviewed and may be rated by other users.
In this new feature, each video will have a separate section called Notes. There are two sections named ‘Helpful’ and ‘Unhelpful’ where good or bad comments about the video can be written. As a result, other users can get an idea about the video before watching it. Not only that, the reviews of various products in the video can be read in written form. As a result, viewers will quickly know the important information contained in the video.
