Encrypted messaging app ‘Signal’ has been shut down in Russia for violating anti-terror laws. Reuters reported this news with reference to Interfax news agency.
According to reports, Signal must comply with Russian laws in order to lift the ban.
The Signal was turned off before the announcement by the country’s regulatory agency, Roskomnadzor. Thousands of users were complaining about this on other platforms. However, they were reportedly able to access it using a VPN.
On the other hand, in Venezuela, the signal has been blocked due to violations of the law in the presidential election.
