After software giant Microsoft renamed Bing Chat to Copilot, Google followed suit. The search engine giant has renamed its AI chatbot model Bird to Gemini. News Engadget.
At the beginning of this month, it was reported that the AI model has changed its name. Besides, Google has launched a dedicated Gemini app for Android in addition to releasing a paid version of the chatbot with advanced AI capabilities.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai said Bird was the best way for customers to directly experience Google’s most advanced AI models. Bird will henceforth be known as Gemini. It is available on the web in about 40 languages. And a new Gemini app launched on the Android platform will soon be brought to the iOS device app.
Currently, the Gemini app is only available in English in the United States, but in the future, Google will open the Gemini chatbot in various languages, including Japanese and Korean, in addition to English.
