The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina released a new postage stamp on Sundayto mark the glorious Independence Day. The Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar took this commemorative postage stamp, opening envelope and seal to the Ganabhaban in the morning. The Prime Minister signed them and released them.
The Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Abu Hena Morshed Zaman, Director General of Postal Department Md. Harunur Rashid (Additional Duty) and others were present at that time.
Commemorative postage stamps, envelopes and seals were also released by the Prime Minister on Independence Day in previous years as well.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War at the National Memorial in the morning before releasing the postage stamps.
