ICT State Minister visited Hyundai factory in Bangladesh.
The world famous motor brand Hyundai’s latest models of Tucson, Creta, Sterix, Verna and Palisade are now being manufactured at Bangabandhu Hitech City, Kaliakor, Gazipur. The new engineers of Bangladesh are making the cars in a total of 7 lines. Already, 100 cars are ready for sale.
Before the inauguration of the Fair Technology-Hyundai factory on Thursday, Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak visited the country’s manufactured factories and various models of cars.
Meanwhile, the state minister talked about the working environment and experience with the factory workers involved in the assembly and manufacturing process of parts.
Speaking to journalists after the visit, the ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that Bangladesh has demonstrated its economic self-reliance by manufacturing Hyundai cars in the country.
He said, we can highlight the capability of Bangladesh to the world by adding Fair Technology-Hyundai company’s car parts. I think, through the establishment of Hyundai factory in Bangladesh, it is possible to highlight the country’s economic prosperity, capacity and future possibilities. They (Fair Technology) will be fully supported in the coming days. Training and policy support will be provided.
The state minister also said that this initiative will help to build a self-reliant smart Bangladesh within the next 41 years to meet the growing demand for cars. So today it is a milestone for the automobile industry of the country. Hyundai and Fair Group will be one of the partners in building Smart Bangladesh.
During the visit, President of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Disaster Management and Relief Ministry Captain AB Tajul Islam, Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Lee Jang-keun, President of Indian Hyundai Motor Mr. Anso Kim, Managing Director of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority. Bikarna Kumar Ghosh and Fair Group Chairman Ruhul Alam Al Mahbub were present.
