A total of 208 people got jobs through on-spot registration in the day-long job fair organized in Rajshahi for the employment of trained youth. The job fair was organized by Technical Training Center (TTC) Rajshahi on Wednesday in collaboration with Aspire to innovate (a2i ) and United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Bangladesh. A total of 1284 CVs have been submitted against various positions in 20 industries of the country participating in the job fair.
Rajshahi Additional Divisional Commissioner (Development and ICT) A, N, M Moinul Islam was present as the chief guest at the inaugural program of the day-long job fair. Mr. Masudur Rahman Rinku, President, Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce was present as the special guest on the occasion presided over by Mr. SM Emdadul Haque, Principal, Technical Training Center (TTC), Rajshahi; Zafar Bayazid, Deputy General Manager, BSCIC District Office, Rajshahi; Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) Inspector Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad; And Habibur Rahman, Program Assistant at A2i.
Speaking as the chief guest, the Additional Divisional Commissioner of Rajshahi ANM Moinul Islam said the concerned institutions should work together to bridge the existing gap between industry and training institutes. At the same time, in order to make the youth proficient in various professions, they need to be given proper training. To this end, industry and training institutions must come forward together.
Mr. Zafar Bayazid informed that the work of the BSCIC Industrial City-2 project is implementing under the supervision of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) in the Kechuatail area of Parila Union, Paba Upazila, Rajshahi is progressing fast. Meanwhile, preparations have been made to allot land for industrial establishments in Industrial Area-2. When BSCIC Industrial City-2 is fully ready, more than 8,000 jobs will be created here.
During the day-long fair, youth job-seekers including men and women submited their CVs at the designated booths of various employer organizations.
Representatives of the Human Resources Department of the industries participating in the fair handed over the appointment letters to the selected candidates through oral examination after verification and selection of the submitted CVs.
