The Diploma Engineers Association of Bangladesh (DEAB) held an introductory meeting for its newly formed committee on Tuesday evening at the Diploma Engineers Auditorium of IDEB Bhaban in the capital. During the event, the new committee members were formally introduced, and prayers were offered for the recovery and well-being of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
The meeting was presided over by newly appointed Convenor Engineer Md. Shahadat Jamil Chowdhury and conducted by Member Secretary Engineer Md. Abu Hanif. The chief guest of the event was Engineer Md. Kabir Hossain, Honorary Convenor of the Interim Central Committee of the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) and Chief Advisor of DEAB.
Among the special guests were Engineer Ibne Fazal Saifuzzaman Santu, President of DEAB Central Committee; Engineer Kazi Sakhawat Hossain, Member Secretary of the IDEB Interim Central Committee and General Secretary of DEAB Central Committee; along with leaders from DEAB’s central and district committees, as well as various service association committees.
Speaking at the event, the speakers highlighted Begum Khaleda Zia’s unwavering dedication to democracy and national sovereignty. They stated, “Begum Zia, the wife of the late President Ziaur Rahman, is a global role model for uncompromising politics. Her sacrifices and struggles to restore democracy will remain an example worldwide. The more challenges the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has faced, the stronger it has become.”
Also in attendance were DEAB Vice President Engineer Abedur Rahman, Organizational Secretary Engineer Golam Kibria Rubel, newly elected Senior Joint Convenor of the DEAB Dhaka District Committee Engineer Md. Parvez Mosharraf Rarhi, Senior Joint Member Secretary Engineer Md. Tuhinuzzaman Tuhin, and Organizational Member Engineer Muhammad Ashraful Alam, among others.
