The undergraduate admission test for the 2024-25 academic year at Dhaka University (DU) is being held outside the capital for the fourth time since the pandemic, in seven divisional cities across the country. As part of this initiative, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) is serving as a sub-center for the tests.
The examination for the “Law and Social Sciences Unit” will commence on Saturday (January 25) at SUST, where a total of 1,655 candidates will sit for the test across four university buildings.
On Friday (January 24), Professor Laila Ashrafun, the coordinator of SUST’s admission committee, provided these details.
In preparation, all necessary security measures have been taken to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination. Faculty members, officials, and staff at SUST will also assist in administering the tests, according to sources from the admission committee.
To maintain fairness, the use of all types of pencils has been strictly prohibited. Additionally, any electronic devices, including calculators, watches, mobile phones, Bluetooth-enabled devices, or any other telecommunication gadgets, are entirely banned in the examination hall. Candidates found in possession of any such devices during the test will face immediate cancellation of their admission eligibility.
For the 2024-25 session, 125,418 candidates have applied for 2,934 seats in the Arts, Law, and Social Sciences Unit, meaning 43 students will compete for each seat.
