Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Land, A.S.M. Saleh Ahmed, has warned that those responsible for providing digital land services will face disciplinary action if they fail to deliver services efficiently. He issued this directive on Tuesday during a meeting on the “Land Automation Project” held at the Land Building in Tejgaon, Dhaka. The project aims to deliver integrated land-related services to citizens’ doorsteps.
The Senior Secretary emphasized the need to reduce over-reliance on land assistants and ensure that all service providers undergo phased training. He proposed training at least three individuals from each district as master trainers to subsequently train others in their regions. “Those who delay in providing services will face strict action,” he warned.
He reiterated the ministry’s commitment to ensuring citizen-centric services, calling for transparency, integrity, and dedication from all stakeholders. “Service providers must be sincere and attentive in delivering land services and work consistently to improve service standards,” he added.
The meeting highlighted that the automation project is designed to enhance land management and bring all integrated land services closer to the public. Field-level officials connected to the system shared their observations on improving service quality. They noted that the digitization of land services has resulted in the submission of 7,000–8,000 applications daily, which are being processed with the utmost diligence. Existing software has already been upgraded to ensure faster service delivery.
The meeting was attended by additional secretaries, senior officials from the ministry, and field-level administrators who participated online to provide their feedback.
