Under an ongoing reform initiative, Upazila Ansar-VDP officers are set to receive laptops, smartphones, and digital content to enhance their training processes. This announcement was made by the Director General (DG) of Ansar and VDP, Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, during a meeting with key officials from Upazilas across the country at the Ansar Headquarters on Wednesday, December 11. Senior officials, including the Additional DG and Deputy DGs, were also present at the meeting.
The DG elaborated on the modernization of training through digital setups and multimedia content, aimed at initiating basic VDP training at the grassroots level nationwide. He emphasized the importance of the officers’ effective participation in implementing these large-scale activities.
Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud provided clear directives on reorganizing club associations and urged officers to play an active role in updating and verifying lists of Ansar-VDP Development Bank shareholders who have not received dividends for a long time. He stressed the need for a comprehensive approach to ensure shareholders receive their rightful dues.
Speaking on the broader reforms, the DG stated, “Training is a key part of the ongoing reform process. The use of digital setups and multimedia content in the training process will mark a significant step forward, and Upazila officers must play an effective role in this transformation.”
The meeting also addressed officers’ questions, challenges, and future responsibilities. The DG informed participants about upcoming provisions to allocate offices, laptops, and smartphones to Upazila Ansar-VDP officers under the revised policy framework, aligning with modern requirements.
The officers shared suggestions regarding capacity building, selecting qualified trainees, and renewing allowances for team leaders or stipend holders based on merit. They also discussed optimal use of club associations and other resources with the DG.
The Ansar-VDP chief assured the officers that the reform journey would uphold their rights and expectations, ensuring that all provisions and benefits would be allocated based on merit and fairness.
