From now on, savings deposits and loan installments for Southeast Bank can be paid through the mobile financial service Nagad, operated by the Postal Department. This initiative was launched on Wednesday at a program held at Southeast Bank’s head office.
With this service, customers can directly deposit money into Southeast Bank accounts using the Nagad app or by dialing the USSD code. Through this method, Nagad users can instantly deposit funds into bank accounts, pay for deposit pension schemes (DPS), and settle loan installments.
The event was attended by Muhammad Badiuzzaman Didar, Administrator of Nagad; Sihab Uddin Chowdhury, Deputy Managing Director of Nagad; Nuruddin Md. Sadeque Hossain, Managing Director of Southeast Bank PLC; and senior officials from both organizations.
Speaking at the event, Muhammad Badiuzzaman Didar remarked, “Banks and mobile financial services are working together to advance financial inclusion in the country. As an organization, Nagad aims to enrich the national economy. Through this partnership with a second-generation bank like Southeast Bank, we can take steps to transform the lives of people in remote areas. By enabling deposits from Nagad to bank accounts, we hope to make our customers’ lives even easier.”
Nagad has maintained a longstanding business relationship with Southeast Bank, and the collaboration has opened new horizons in bank and mobile financial service partnerships in Bangladesh. In addition to Southeast Bank, loan installments, DPS payments, and other banking services for several other banks can also be paid via Nagad.
