Five teachers from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) have been temporarily suspended on charges of obtaining recruitment and promotions through illegal means.
The suspended teachers are Professor Masrura Mostafa from the Department of Humanities and Business Administration, Professor Subrata Talapatra from the IEM Department, Associate Professor Md. Ikramul Haque from the BECM Department, Assistant Professor Nibir Mondal from the ESE Department, and Assistant Professor Shahriar Roman from the Department of Humanities and Business Administration.
On Monday, December 9, Shahiduzzaman Sheikh, Section Officer (Grade-1) of KUET’s Public Relations and Information Division, confirmed the matter. He stated that the preliminary findings of the investigation into illegal recruitment and promotions led to the decision taken during the university’s 95th syndicate meeting held on December 5 (Thursday).
