The International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) organized “Technocrats V2,” a technology competition aimed at fostering innovation and inspiring young minds. The event was held on Saturday at the university’s Triple-E Research Center in Uttara, Dhaka. Over 120 universities, polytechnics, and colleges across Bangladesh participated, turning the event into a vibrant platform for innovation, creativity, and teamwork.
Participants competed across eight categories, showcasing their technical and entrepreneurial skills. Among the events, the “Drone Racing Challenge” was particularly thrilling, where contestants navigated challenging courses with self-built drones. The “Soccer Bot” segment featured robots programmed to pass and score goals, while the “Battle Bot Fight” segment highlighted intense contests of strategy and technology using powerful robots.
The “Line Follow-Up” event demonstrated the precision of robots navigating complex paths. In “Project Showcasing,” innovators presented unique ideas, including solutions for renewable energy and healthcare. The “Business Case Study” segment challenged participants to devise creative solutions to real-world business problems. The “Techathon” and “Dhaka Divisional Hackathon” focused on building technological solutions and functional applications under tight deadlines.
The competition attracted top talents from various institutions across Bangladesh. In the Drone Racing Challenge, Shaheed Suhrawardy College emerged as the champion, with Iqbal Siddiqui Society School and College and UIU taking second and third places, respectively.
Shaheed Suhrawardy College also won the Soccer Bot competition, followed by Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology in second place and East West University in third. Shahjalal University of Science and Technology excelled in the Line Follow-Up event, with IUT and Prime Asia University taking second and third positions, respectively.
In Project Showcasing, the team from Major General Mahmudul Hasan Adarsha Mohabidyalaya secured the top position, while Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology and IUB claimed second and third places. Dhaka University triumphed in the Business Case Study segment, followed by BRAC University and IUT.
In the Techathon, BUBT clinched the top spot, with Shahjalal University of Science and Technology and UIU finishing second and third. In the Dhaka Divisional Hackathon, IUT emerged victorious, while BRAC University and another team from IUT secured second and third places.
A total of BDT 420,000 in prizes were distributed among the winners, and all participants received certificates.
During the award ceremony, IUBAT’s Vice-Chancellor and program chair, Professor Dr. Abdur Rab, stated, “Innovation is possible where creativity meets opportunity, and this competition is a testament to that.”
The event’s chief guest, Md. Munim Hasan, Director General of the Patent, Design, and Trademark Office, emphasized the necessity of innovative thinking. He remarked, “This event is not just about technology and innovation but also a symbol of the creativity and capabilities of Bangladesh’s future generations.”
Special guest and IUBAT Treasurer Professor Selina Nargis, along with other distinguished attendees, encouraged the participants and praised their efforts.
