The 29th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) 2025 will begin on January 1 at the permanent venue of the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center (BCCFEC) in East Purbachal, marking its fourth edition. The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) has already started decorating the fairground with themes of student and public sacrifices and victories from the July-August uprising. Additionally, for the first time, online ticket sales for the fair are also underway.
Regarding the e-ticketing service, Vivek Sarker, Secretary of the EPB and Director of the Trade Fair, stated that discussions have been held with the contracting agency. Visitors will be able to enter the fairgrounds by scanning a QR code on their mobile phones. Tickets will be available for purchase through an app, allowing visitors to buy tickets from anywhere, which will help avoid crowding at the entrance and save time for attendees.
He further mentioned that, in addition to online ticketing, visitors will also be able to purchase tickets in person at the venue. There are also efforts to enable ticket sales at BRTA bus counters. As in previous years, the entry fee will remain 50 Taka for adults and 25 Taka for minors.
It has been confirmed that Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor, will inaugurate the fair. To honor the martyrs of the July-August uprising, two corners will be dedicated to Shaheed Abu Sayeed and Mir Mughdha. Additionally, there will be a Youth Pavilion and a designated seating area for senior citizens, where only the elderly will be allowed to sit. Female entrepreneurs will also be allocated stalls at a lower price to help them sell their products at more affordable rates.
The fair will feature local businesses as well as participants from countries such as India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Singapore. These countries will showcase their products at 13 to 14 stalls.
