On Saturday, December 7, the Friendship Run competition was held at Dhanmondi, organized by Team Dhanmondi, one of the largest amateur and recreational running groups in the capital. The event was sponsored by Gigabyte AORUS, and during the closing ceremony, several key individuals were present, including Khaja Mohammad Anas Khan, Country Manager of Gigabyte Bangladesh, Zafar Ahmed, Director of Distribution Business at Smart Technologies, Najmul Islam Abir, E-Sports Event Coordinator at Gigabyte Bangladesh, and Mustafa Monwar, Community Manager at Gigabyte.
At the closing ceremony, the guests emphasized the importance of community-based events like running in promoting physical health and social unity. The theme of the event, held during the month of victory, focused on strengthening the bonds of friendship and social solidarity. Team Dhanmondi believes that community runs play a vital role not only in physical fitness and well-being but also in fostering friendship and social empathy.
The 10-kilometer run saw participation from around 200 amateur and recreational runners, both male and female, from Dhanmondi and various areas of Dhaka. Team Dhanmondi has long been encouraging the local community to lead a healthy lifestyle through regular running and physical exercises. Previously, the team has organized events such as the Ultra Marathon, 16-Kilometer Victory Day Run, and special races for children, all aimed at raising awareness at the community level.
