The second Advanced Technology Solution (ATS) Expo, organized by Walton, concluded with a successful outcome, as the company secured orders worth nearly BDT 350 crore from various domestic and international organizations. Following the success, Walton officials are considering organizing a larger version of the event next year.
The closing ceremony of the “ATS Expo-2024” was held on the evening of Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Rajdarshan Hall of the Bashundhara International Convention City in the capital. The chief guest at the event was Sheikh Bashir Uddin, the trade and textiles advisor of the interim government. Salim Uddin, the Secretary of Commerce, attended as a special guest.
Other prominent figures from Walton present at the event included SM Shamsul Alam, Chairman of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, Vice Chairman SM Ashraful Alam, Managing Director SM Mahbubul Alam, Director SM Nurul Alam Rezvi, Walton’s brand ambassadors Siam Ahmed and Bidya Sinha Mim, and senior officials from both public and private sectors.
In his speech, the chief guest, Sheikh Bashir Uddin, emphasized that success is the result of continuous effort. He expressed admiration for Walton’s product diversity, use of smart technologies, and affordable pricing. “I want Walton to increase the sharing of its achievements with others,” he added.
During the closing ceremony, Sheikh Bashir Uddin toured various stalls and inaugurated Walton’s new commercial VRF AC with advanced “Hot and Cool” features. He was impressed with Walton’s state-of-the-art electronics and electrical products, as well as industrial solutions, materials, and components that are useful for backward linkage industries. Walton has expressed its intent to continue organizing such expos to showcase these products to other domestic industrial establishments.
The event’s organizers reported receiving an overwhelming response, exceeding expectations. Key representatives from domestic and foreign industrial institutions, including the Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), Chairman of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority, Trade Secretary, diplomats from various countries, high-ranking officials from both government and private sectors, university professors, students, banking representatives, several well-known actors, and young entrepreneurs from the country, all attended the expo.
Walton’s initiative to organize the ATS Expo has been widely praised. The primary goal of the event was to reduce the country’s dependence on imports by offering high-quality industrial materials, components, and solutions from local manufacturers, thereby enhancing the empowerment of domestic industries. According to Walton, the event largely achieved its goal, with positive feedback from entrepreneurs, buyers, and visitors. This success is expected to encourage further growth and inspire Walton to continue hosting such industrial exhibitions.
The response from domestic and foreign industrial institutions and the trust shown in the Walton brand and products has motivated the company to continue organizing such expos in the future.
