Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir’s branch at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) has made a public appearance after operating covertly for 19 years since the university’s inception. The organization held a welcoming ceremony for 300 newly admitted students of the 2023-24 academic session. The event took place on Thursday, December 7, at a convention hall in Maijdee, Noakhali.
Reports suggest that the names of the NSTU branch’s president and secretary have not yet been disclosed. During the event, the chief guest was Noman Hossain Noyon, a member of Shibir’s central executive council and the president of the Comilla Metropolitan branch. Abu Sayeed Sumon, president of Shibir’s Noakhali city branch, was also present as a special guest.
Speaking at the event, the Noakhali city branch president stated, “Student politics is prohibited at the university, so the committee will not surface openly. Plans are in place to gradually come forward depending on the situation.”
