The project’s success stories also included Khushi from Lalmonirhat, who escaped child marriage and started an online clothing business after receiving e-commerce training. Meanwhile, Seema Akhter Smriti from Gaibandha, unable to continue college due to a cancer diagnosis, found purpose by learning about online safety and combating cyberbullying through the program.
Grameenphone CEO Yasir Azman underscored the organization’s commitment to building an inclusive Digital Bangladesh. “This initiative addresses digital education gaps, strengthens online safety, and unlocks new opportunities for marginalized communities, particularly women and youth,” he said.
Plan International Bangladesh Country Director Kabita Bose emphasized the importance of digital skills for empowering young people, particularly girls. “This project goes beyond teaching internet usage. It provides critical education and skills to enable safe and effective use of digital spaces,” she said.
The event featured key presentations by Grameenphone Project Lead Anjum Rasna Hasan and Plan International Bangladesh Project Lead Khurshid Ara, who detailed the project’s progress and impact. Moderated by Kabita Bose and Grameenphone CEO Yasir Azman, the session welcomed dignitaries, including BTRC Vice Chairman Md.
