A seminar titled “Capture Fusion and Digital Solutions” was held at the UK Center in Gulshan, Dhaka, focusing on raising awareness about cyberbullying, harassment, and hacking. Organized by Kakatorua and presided over by its founder Abdullah Al Imran, the event aimed to equip students with essential knowledge and tools to address challenges in using social media responsibly.
In his welcome speech, Abdullah Al Imran emphasized the importance of social media awareness, stating, “Social media is a powerful platform, but it must be used safely and responsibly, armed with the necessary knowledge.”
The seminar featured panelists who addressed the complexities of social media issues from various perspectives:
- Md. Zakaria Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police, discussed the legal safeguards against cybercrime. Speaking to the students, he remarked, “Awareness of your rights is the first step to ensuring online safety. Law enforcement agencies are always here to support you.”
- Mehenaz Orni, an executive at SR Dream IT, elaborated on the technical measures to protect against hacking and online threats. She highlighted, “Basic security steps play a crucial role in protecting our privacy. Raising youth awareness about these aspects is vital in today’s digital age.”
The seminar also introduced the concept of a “First Aid Kit for Social Media Problems,” underlining the commitment of Kakatorua and its partners to build a secure digital environment for young people in Bangladesh.
With over 200 enthusiastic participants at the EMK Center, the seminar fostered a productive discussion on the responsible use of social media and cyber safety. The event successfully advocated for creating an informed and secure digital society.
