Mastercard has honored 26 organizations with the prestigious Excellence Awards for their contributions to innovation and inclusion in the financial services sector. A total of 47 awards were presented across 18 categories, recognizing achievements during the 2023-24 fiscal year.
BRAC Bank and Eastern Bank Limited led with four awards each, while Southeast Bank, Dhaka Bank, United Commercial Bank (UCB), and Mutual Trust Bank received accolades in three categories. Two awards each were secured by AB Bank, Al-Arafah Islami Bank, The City Bank, Islami Bank Bangladesh, LankaBangla Finance, National Bank, and Pubali Bank.
Other notable winners included Standard Chartered Bank, Bank Asia, bKash, Dutch-Bangla Bank, Evercare Hospital, Grameenphone, Meena Bazar, Prime Bank, RFL Best Buy, Transcom Electronics, ShareTrip, SSL Commerz, and Bangladesh Railway’s payment service Shohoz.
The awards ceremony, held on Saturday evening at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Dhaka, was graced by Bangladesh Bank Governor Ahsan H. Mansur, U.S. Embassy’s Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Trishita Mowla, Mastercard Bangladesh Country Manager Syed Mohammad Kamal, and senior officials from various ministries, banks, fintechs, and top business organizations.
