Starting Sunday, November 3, a month-long income tax service initiative will be available at tax offices across the country. This year, the fair includes a dedicated online help desk for filing tax returns, requiring no physical documentation submission.
National Board of Revenue (NBR) Chairman Abdur Rahman Khan stated, “We aim to encourage taxpayers to submit returns online. With Wi-Fi access, returns can now be easily filed from home, eliminating the need to visit tax offices or banks. An acknowledgment receipt will be instantly provided.”
The NBR has enhanced the e-filing system over recent years, providing users with a more streamlined experience. Taxpayers can register at etaxnbr.gov.bd, fill in necessary income and expense details, and submit their returns without uploading any documents. The platform will automatically generate the required calculations, simplifying the process for users.
In addition to online services, special in-person facilities will continue at tax offices nationwide. Throughout November, 650 tax circles across 41 tax regions are set to offer a one-stop solution for filing returns, obtaining e-TINs, and other services. The NBR has instructed officials to maintain a fair-like atmosphere at these locations.
For government employees, the NBR will set up return submission booths at the Secretariat from November 3 to November 17, and in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar from November 19 to November 23. Additionally, special arrangements will be available at Sena Malancha for members of the armed forces.
This year, online return filing has been made mandatory for government employees in four city corporations, including two in Dhaka, as well as for employees of select multinational corporations and banks.
