Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the operator of Dhaka’s high-speed metro system, has temporarily suspended new registrations for its Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) pass, the dedicated travel card for metro commuters. Renewals for damaged cards will also be unavailable during this period.
The announcement was made on Friday, November 1, at 6:30 p.m. via DMTCL’s verified Facebook page. According to the notice, services for card registration and reissuance will be suspended until November 7 due to unavoidable circumstances. DMTCL expressed apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Currently, Dhaka Metro operates from Saturday to Thursday between 7:10 a.m. and 9:40 p.m., and on Fridays from 3:30 p.m. to 9:40 p.m.
